TREES and PRICING

Greystone Tree Farm offers a variety of trees that are primarily native to Ohio. If you don't see something pictured, please inquire. Pricing is a general guideline, but could slightly vary.
WHITE PINE

The White Pine is one of the fastest growing pines and is very popular for wind breaks, privacy barriers, lumber, Christmas trees, soil erosion prevention, and to add beauty and value to properties. White Pine range from 50-80' tall and 30-50' wide. They can live over 200 years. They generally grow 1.5-2' per year and prefer full sun although they do okay in partial shade. They prefer acidic, well drained soils. They will not tolerate standing water or marshy areas.

HYBRID WILLOW

The Hybrid Willow is the fastest growing tree that I've raised. They can easily grow 5'+ per year. They grow 50-75' tall and 20-30' wide. They are excellent for privacy barriers and windbreaks. They are also a great tree to plant in low, wet areas to aid in water reduction. 7' spacing is ideal for a quick screen.

NORWAY SPRUCE

The Norway Spruce is by far my most popular tree and is excellent for wind breaks, privacy barriers, lumber, Christmas trees, soil erosion prevention and will add beauty and value to any property. Norway Spruce grow 40-60' tall, 25-30' wide and are the fastest growing spruce. They generally grow 1-1.5' per year and prefer full sun although partial shade is okay too. Spruce prefer acidic soil, but will do well in most well drained soils. They will not tolerate standing water or marshy areas very long.

AUTUMN BLAZE MAPLE

The Autumn Blaze Maple is a fairly fast growing tree growing about 2' per year and offers excellent Fall colors. They have many uses aside from being a nice ornamental tree. They are excellent for firewood, soil erosion control, woodworking, and make a great shade tree.  Sugar Maples can reach 60-75' tall and 40-50' wide. They prefer full sun, but will do okay in the shade. They do well in most soils, but prefer wetter areas (not standing water).

OAK TREE

The Red Oak is one of the most popular hardwood trees in Ohio. The lumber from oak trees is prized for carpentry work, flooring, posts, etc. They also make a great ornamental tree and shade tree. The acorns from the tree attracts lots of native wildlife. Red Oak can grow to 2' or more a year and reach a height of 80'.  The The Red Oak has very colorful Fall foliage too.

RIVER BIRCH

River Birch are a fast growing birch tree that will add beauty to any property. They are the most heat tolerant of the birches. River birch prefer moist soil and usually grow 3' per year. They can reach 40-70' tall and 40-60' wide. They can live up to 100 years!

ROSE OF SHARON

Rose of Sharon are an excellent choice for a fast growing screen or just to add color to your property. Each shrub will explode with dozens of roses during the months of July-August. Rose of Sharon will do well in most soils, even clay. They are fast growing and can grow 8'x8' if not pruned. These bushes attract butterflies and hummingbirds.
